The Olympia, WA residents in this case parked their Ford Ranger at their apartment complex late on a recent Saturday night. When they woke up the next morning, the truck was gone. The LoJack® system that was installed at purchase proved its value by helping local law enforcement recover the pickup and take the suspected thief into custody.

When the theft was discovered on June 8th, 2014, it was reported to the Olympia Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Ranger, which was installed at Gillis Auto Center in Sheldon, WA.

Later that evening, several Lacey PD officers received the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located traveling on 5th Avenue East, and a traffic stop was performed. The driver was taken into custody. Police retrieved the Ranger and soon returned it to its rightful owner.
