The owners of an Acura TL parked in on the street in lower Manhattan on a recent Friday. They were shocked when they returned and discovered their car was missing. Thanks to the great work of local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased, it was recovered without damage later that same day.

On June 6th, 2014, the Acura’s owners contacted the NYPD 7th Precinct to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the TL, which was installed at Acura of Ramsey, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from NYPD’s 10th precinct picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was located in a public lot near 12th Ave and 38th Street, where it was found parked and unoccupied. Officers retrieved the Armada and soon released it to its very pleased owner.
