On a recent Monday, the owners of a Saturn SL parked their vehicle in their assigned space in their condominium complex in Miami Gardens, FL. The next afternoon, the owner returned to the parking lot and discovered their car was missing. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system installed in the SL, recovery was achieved that same day.

The Saturn’s owners contacted the Miami Gardens Police Department to report their vehicle stolen on May 27th, 2014. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the SL, which was installed at Saturn of Ontario, CA.

A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD detective picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Saturn was located, parked and abandoned near N.W. 20th Avenue and 61st Street. After a brief surveillance, the SL was retrieved by police and soon returned to its elated owners.
