The LoJack® System Helps Pierce County, Washington Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Chevrolet Tahoe

On a recent Saturday morning, the owner of a Chevrolet Tahoe in Tacoma, WA started her SUV, locked it with a spare key, and went back inside her home. A few minutes later, she came back outside and discovered the vehicle was gone. Thanks to the excellent work of local police, assisted by the LoJack® system installed in the machine, the SUV was recovered undamaged in less than an hour after activation.
The Chevy’s owner reported the incident to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on April 19th, 2014. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Tahoe, which was installed at Friendly Chevrolet in Puyallup, WA.
A few minutes later, a PCSD sergeant received the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Chevy was found parked and abandoned on 160th Street East. The undamaged Tahoe was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
