The owners of a 2001 GMC Yukon contacted the Unified Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from in front of their residence in the 5100 block of Applewood Drive. The owners had started the Yukon to warm it up and then left it unattended while going back into their residence. When the owners returned they found it missing so they notified police.

Eight minutes later officers from Unified Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 3600 block of 5400 S where they found it abandoned behind a business with the keys still inside. Officers recovered the GMC and returned it to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in January 2001 through California direct sales.
