The owner of a 2015 Ford Escape contacted the Austin PD to report his vehicle stolen.    The owner hired a yardman and allowed him to borrow his vehicle.  The yardman never returned.  The Austin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from the Austin PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to 100 block of Bolles Circle where they found it parked on the street.  Inside the stolen Ford, they found a suspect sleeping.  Officers arrested the subject in the vehicle. The stolen Ford Escape recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Escape in March 2017 at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, TX.
