The owner of a 2015 Ford F250 contacted the Fort Lauderdale to report his vehicle stolen.  The Fort Lauderdale Police Department verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from the Miami Dade Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the officers tracked the vehicle to 18800 block of NE Miami Court.  Investigation revealed that the thieves had “re-flashed” the computer of the Ford to commit the theft.  After processing by the crime scene unit the vehicle was returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-250 in May 2017 at AutoNation Ford in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
