The owners of a 2005 Dodge Caravan contacted the Lowell Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The Lowell Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later troopers from the Milton Barracks of the Massachusetts State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the vehicle to a residential address in the Hyde Park section of Boston and recovered the unoccupied vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Caravan in November 2004 at Herb Chambers Chrysler-Dodge located in Danvers, MA.
