The owner of a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo contacted the Truth or Consequences Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the Chevrolet was possibly stolen by a known subject.  The Truth or Consequences PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Several hours after the activation, officers with the Santa Fe Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to the area of 5th and Mann.

The officers determined the Chevrolet was mobile and continued to track the LoJack signal.  Officers located the Chevrolet parked behind a service station and discovered the vehicle was no longer occupied.  The Chevrolet was subsequently recovered and the officers attempted to make contact with the owner to advise of the recovery.  The owner could not be contacted and the Chevrolet was towed from the scene for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Monte Carlo in July of 2005 at Quirk Chevrolet in Braintree, Massachusetts.
