The owners of a 2016 Fiat 500X contacted the Detroit Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen overnight.   Detroit Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Fiat.

A short while later officers from the Detroit Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Fiat with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a remote commercial area of Detroit.

Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have enough time to strip the vehicle or use it to commit additional crimes.  The stolen Fiat was impounded and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Fiat 500X in July 2016 at Champion Fiat, Downey, CA.
