The owner of a 2006 Honda Accord contacted the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the vehicle keys were stolen and now the Honda was stolen.  The Jefferson Parish SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

Approximately six minutes after the activation, deputies, officers and troopers with the Jefferson Parish SO, New Orleans Police Department and Louisiana State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the silent and directional cues from the PTC, the Accord was tracked and located several blocks away from the initial theft location.

The stolen Honda was contacted and a juvenile subject was taken into custody.  The Honda was recovered and will be released back to the owner at a later time.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in October 2006 at Superior Honda in Harvey, Louisiana.
