LoJack System Helps Nashville Police recover 2016 Toyota Corolla

The owners of a 2016 Toyota Corolla reported the theft of their vehicle to Nashville Police. Nashville Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Corolla.

A short while later Officers from Nashville Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs, the Officers tracked the vehicle in downtown Nashville. The units working together located the vehicle in an impound lot where it had been towed earlier.

The Toyota had been involved in another crime and had already been impounded by the Nashville Police before it was reported stolen by the victim. Detectives with Nashville Police are continuing the investigation in to this theft. The LoJack system helped locate the vehicle within an hour of the reported theft. According to Detectives they would have realized within a few days that the vehicle had already been impounded but with the help of the LoJack System this saved them vital time in their investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota at Performance Toyota in Memphis in February 2016.
