LoJack® System Helps the Broward Sheriff’s Office Recover a Stolen 2008 Lexus ES350, Two in Custody

When the owners of a 2008 Lexus ES350 returned to their car and found that it had been stolen, they immediately notified the Police.  The responding Officer from the Broward Sheriff’s Office prepared the report and entered the vehicle information into state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® transponder concealed in the stolen vehicle.

A short while later Deputies and members of the Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft and began to track the vehicle in Margate, Florida.  When Officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspects refused to stop and fled. While attempting to negotiate a turn at high speed the suspects and spun out.  The suspects were taken into custody and the vehicle was recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus in Apr of 2008 Lexus at Lexus of Rockville, in Rockville Maryland.
