The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado contacted the Flagstaff Police Department in Arizona to report the vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the Chevrolet Colorado was taken from a big box store parking lot.  The Flagstaff PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Colorado.

Approximately 45 minutes after the activation and nearly 320 miles away, officers with the Albuquerque Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to the Southeast Area Command.

The Chevrolet was located and found to be occupied.  Officers initiated a traffic stop with the stolen Chevrolet and made contact with the occupants.  The occupants were identified and this information will be shared with the Flagstaff PD.  The Chevrolet was recovered and towed from the scene for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Colorado in July 2017 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
