The owner of a 2017 Mini Cooper Clubman contacted the San Francisco Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The owner advised the vehicle was taken from in front of their residence in the 1400 block of Willard Street and that the key fob had been inadvertently left in the vehicle.

The San Francisco Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2017 Mini Cooper Clubman.

A short while later, officers from the San Francisco Police Department were alerted to the stolen Mini Cooper by means of the silent LoJack signal. The stolen vehicle was then tracked with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Mini Cooper was tracked to Kansas Street near 17th Street, where the vehicle was found unoccupied, parked at the curb.

The undamaged, Mini Cooper was recovered by the San Francisco Police Department, and the vehicle was towed/stored for safe keeping to be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2017 Mini Cooper in October of 2016, at Mini of San Francisco, in San Francisco, CA.
