The owners of a Dodge Durango contacted the El Cajon Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen in the city of El Cajon.

El Cajon Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Within 3 minutes, officers from National City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge Durango with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 4000 block of Newton Blvd. and 41st Street in the city National City.  A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Durango in January 2007 at Rydell Chevrolet Northridge, Northridge, California.
