The owners of a 2017 Ford F-150 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from theit home in the 4000 block of Nellis.   The owner’s daughter has an estranged husband who came by their residence to see their daughter.  While there, he stole the keys to the Ford and left in it without permission so the owner’s called the police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

6 minutes later officers from North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 3100 block of Las Vegas Blvd. where they located it being driven by the listed suspect.  Officers were able to safely stop the Ford and take the driver into custody.  The driver was arrested for the theft of the Ford and it was recovered and towed for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-150 in January of 2017 at Friendly Ford, Las Vegas, Nevada
