The owner of a 2007 Lincoln MKX contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from the 3500 block of Vista Del Monte.  The owner met a girl while he was out drinking and gambling.  They were driving around and found and outdoor portable toilet.  The owner got out of his car and left it running.  After utilizing the toilet he was on his way back to the car when he was jumped by three males and severely beaten.  The males then jumped into the car with the female and left the owner on the ground.  The owner then notified the police.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln.

A short while later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a weekly rental motel in the 5600 block of Boulder Highway where they were able to locate it unoccupied.  The Lincoln was then recovered and towed for forensic processing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln MKX in March of 2008 at Long Beach Lincoln Mercury, Long Beach, California.
