The owner of a 2003 Chevrolet S10 called the Berwyn Police Department to report his vehicle was stolen from a job sit in Berwyn off the 3200 block of Wesley Ave. The Berwyn PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet S10.

Shortly after the S10 was activated a Chicago Police Department Squad from the Ogden District equipped with LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent and directional signal being broadcast from the stolen Chevy S10. The Chicago PD unit, following the signal being broadcast from the stolen S10, tracked the stolen vehicle to the 1500 block of South Kenneth Avenue in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood where the vehicle was recovered parked and unoccupied. The Chicago PD recovered the Chevrolet and returned it to owner who came to scene.

Due to LoJack the owner of this Chevrolet S10 had his vehicle recovered shortly after it was entered as stolen. The Chevrolet was recovered before it could be damaged, stripped, cloned, re-tagged or used in a crime.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Chevrolet S10 in June 2003 at Jerry Gleason Chevrolet in Forest Park, Illinois.
