The owner of a 2014 Honda Accord parked their car in front of their home. When they awoke the next morning and attempted to use their Honda they discovered it missing. The owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report their Honda stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activates the LoJack® System concealed in the 4-door sedan.

Immediately upon activation, while on routine patrol, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC), that are installed in law enforcement patrol vehicles and aircraft. The officer began tracking the stolen Honda by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the Accord in the 2100 block of NE 167th Street. The North Miami Beach Police Department responded to the scene to continue the investigation since the Honda was in their jurisdiction. The Honda was recovered, removed from state and federal crime information computer systems by the entering agency and towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping.

It should be noted that this Honda was successfully recovered once before with the use of the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in December 2016.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Honda Accord in August 2014 at Aventura Honda in North Miami Beach, Florida.
