The owner of a 1999 Mercedes Benz ML320 contacted the Las Cruces Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. The Las Cruces PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

Shortly after the activation, officers with the Las Cruces PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. The Mercedes was tracked to a residential neighborhood in the area of Picacho and Valley. Officers located the Mercedes and observed it parked at a residence.

The Mercedes was recovered at the scene and will be returned to its owner. Officers are working possible leads to identify the offender.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz ML320 in November 1998 at Keyes European Mercedes in Van Nuys, California.
