The owner of the Honda CBR motorcycle had it parked in the driveway of his house. When he went out to look for the Honda the next day he found it missing. This was in the village of Freeport. He immediately called the Freeport Police Department. The Freeport PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by the Nassau Police Department of the 3rd precinct on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) in their vehicle. This was in the Westbury section of Nassau confines of the 3rd precinct. They tracked the signal to a commercial garage where the signal appeared to be coming from. Detectives from the 3rd precinct were summoned to the scene. They conferred with the owner of the garage who gave them permission to enter and search for the Honda. Once in the garage the detectives observed the bike, determined that it was the stolen Honda and took it into custody. The bike was recovered in good condition.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Honda was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage. He further stated that he was happy that when he bought the Honda it was equipped with the LoJack® System because he knew that if it wasn’t for LoJack the Honda may never have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Honda CBR-1000RR in July 2012 at Honda Power Sports of Crofton Cambrills in Maryland.
