The owner of a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen after the vehicle was left unattended with the engine running and keys in the ignition from the area of 3400 Ravenwood Avenue in Baltimore City. The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer from the 4th District to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Chevrolet. When the officer was unable to locate the Chevrolet a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Blazer.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Blazer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the area of 5500 Cadillac Avenue in the Howard Park area of Baltimore City. At this location officers observed the Chevrolet parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Chevrolet was then recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer in November 2001 at Auto Nation in Cockeysville, Maryland.
