The owner of a 2015 Toyota Corolla awoke and attempted to use their car but discovered it missing from in front of their home. The owner contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report their Toyota stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activates the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Later that afternoon, while on routine patrol, a Palm Beach County SO deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Corolla on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC), that are installed in law enforcement patrol vehicles and aircraft. The deputy began tracking the stolen Toyota by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the 4-door sedan abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot in the 4900 block of Cherry Road. The Corolla was recovered, removed from state and federal crime information computer systems by the entering agency and released to the owner, who responded to the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Toyota Corolla in May 2015 at Palm Beach Toyota in West Palm Beach, Florida.
