The owners of a 2005 Ford F150 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 5000 block of Phantom Jet. The owners had parked the Ford in the parking lot of their apartment complex and left it unlocked with the keys inside. When they returned to where they had parked it they found the Ford missing.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F150.

30 minutes later officers from the North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the parking lot of a tire store in the 3100 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time. The Ford was recovered and towed for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in August 2007 at Centennial Toyota in Las Vegas, Nevada.
