The owner of a 2014 Ford F150 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from the 5600 block of Centennial Center. The owner was walking a female coworker to her vehicle which was parked by his Ford. As they approached their vehicles, another Ford F150 pulled up and 3 males jumped out and pointed a gun at the owner and the female and said, “You know what’s up.” The three males then took the keys from both victims as well as the owner’s wallet and the purse from the female with him. The three males then took owner’s Ford as well as the female’s BMW and left followed by the Ford that the suspects were riding in.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Thirty minutes later officers from both the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD and the North Las Vegas Police Department as well as troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Stolen Vehicle Used in Crime Spree – 4 Suspects Arrested, Vehicle Recovered

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and troopers tracked the Ford to the 600 block of Dinard after the suspects had taken the owner’s Ford on a crime spree around the Las Vegas area robbing different individuals at gunpoint. The suspects had ditched the Ford in a residential area and fled the area. The Ford was immediately towed to the crime lab where evidence was immediately obtained to identify the suspects. Several days later, 4 males were arrested and booked into jail for multiple counts of robbery. After the police processed the Ford it was released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in December 2014 at Team Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada.
