The owner of this 2006 Hummer H3 was the victim of a domestic assault.  The suspect took the Hummer without permission from the 12600 block of Second Avenue South in Burien.  The theft was immediately reported to the King County Sheriff’s Office who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hummer.

Less than one hour later, a Washington State Patrol Cessna flying over Seattle picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hummer.  The pilots followed the directional and audible cues from the Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in the Cessna and located the Hummer at a grocery store parking lot in the 3800 block of Rainer Avenue South in Seattle.   A Washington State Patrol trooper on the ground, also equipped with a PTC, received information on the location from the pilots and tracked the signal to that location.  The Hummer was abandoned and apparently undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hummer H3 in December 2010 at Renton Honda in Washington when it was purchased as a used vehicle.
