The owners of a 2005 Toyota Sequoia contacted the Houston Police Department and filed a theft report after they found their vehicle missing from their driveway.  The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later the air crew from the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter unit 102 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the air crew tracked the signal to an area near Longenbaugh and Greenhouse Road with the signal eventually peaking over the area of Yucca Valley Court and Cliffsage Court. The pilot located a vehicle on Cliffsage Court that matched the description and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies from district 4 were contacted for assistance. Within a few minutes, several deputies and a K9 unit arrived on scene and were guided to the Toyota. The deputies confirmed the Toyota and searched the area with the K9 but were unable to locate a suspect. The Toyota had entry and ignition damage and was stored pending notification of the owner.
