The owner of a Kia Sportage was shocked to discover that his business office was burglarized while he was out for lunch.  Upon his return he discovered that his car keys and Kia had been stolen.  He quickly notified the Denver Police Department who responded and investigated the burglary and auto theft.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia.

A short while later a police officer with the Wheat Ridge Police Department and a trooper with the Colorado State Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, the trooper tracked the Kia to the parking lot of a hotel near 44th Avenue and Van Gordon Street in Wheat Ridge.  The Kia was unoccupied and was safely recovered for return to the very happy owner.  The Wheat Ridge PD was following up on the recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Kia Sportage in March 2015 at Dale Spradley Motors in Pueblo, Colorado, at the request of this same owner.
