The owners of a Chevrolet Avalanche contacted the Pueblo Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later a detective with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, this detective tracked the Chevrolet to an alley in the 1400 block of East 5th Avenue. No suspects were found in the stolen Chevrolet which was parked at a residence. Investigation turned over to the Pueblo PD. The Chevrolet was recovered undamaged and returned to the happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Avalanche in August 2007 at AutoNation Chevrolet North in Denver, Colorado.
