The owner of a 2016 Land Rover called the Kings Point Village Police Department to report that he had left his vehicle running in the driveway and when he came back outside, someone had stolen the vehicle.

The Kings Point Village PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, detectives from the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Land Rover to Smith Street in the City of Newark. The Land Rover was located parked and unoccupied. The Land Rover was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Land Rover in March 2016 at Prestige Land Rover of Paramus in New Jersey.
