The owners of a 2016 Honda Civic contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 5300 block Edmondson Avenue in Baltimore City.  The Baltimore City PD dispatched an officer from the 8th district to the location and the officer upon arrival obtained all the vehicle information and searched the area for the Honda.  After not locating the Honda, a stolen vehicle report was completed.  The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

A short while later detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the 300 block S Bentalou Street in Baltimore City.  At this location, detectives observed the Honda being operated by the theft suspect. With the aviation unit “Foxtrot 1” overhead, a felony vehicle stop was completed and the operator placed under arrest. The undamaged Honda was recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Honda Civic in June 2016 at Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, Maryland.
