The owner of a 1998 Honda Civic called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within ten minutes after the activation, an officer with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The officer following the audible and directional cues from the PTC tracked the Honda to a motel parking lot.  The Honda was found to be unoccupied and was recovered to be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in July 1998 at AutoNation Honda in Hollywood, Florida.
