The owners of a 2017 Ford F250 contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway sometime during the previous night. Owner viewed video of a Chrysler 300 drive slowly by his home then a few minutes later observed his pickup being driven away followed by the Chrysler. The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers, with the assistance of Blue Eagle the police helicopter, located the pickup in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Officers set up surveillance with negative results. The pickup was processed for evidence and released to the grateful owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 in January 2017 at Truck City Ford in San Antonio, Texas.
