LoJack System Helps San Antonio Police Department Recover Stolen 2012 Ford F150

The owners of a 2012 Ford F150 contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a mechanic shop on Ingram Road in San Antonio. The Ford was last accounted for when the shop closed for the day. The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.
Suspect Argues with Tow Truck Driver – Gets Arrested
A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to a large mall parking lot where the vehicle was parked and abandoned. Officers set up surveillance and after a period of time with no results began the recovery of the pickup. A tow truck was called to the scene, began to load the pickup when a subject ran up to the tow truck driver and demanded to know why his pickup was being towed. Detective still at the scene waiting for the pickup to be towed observed the subject and overhearing the comments promptly arrested him and charged him with the theft of the pickup.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in October 2015 at Leif Johnson Ford in San Antonio, Texas.
