The owners of a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated she parked her Chevrolet in front of her apartment and when she returned the vehicle had been stolen.

The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Less than an hour later officers from the Sacramento PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the 7700 block of Rio Linda Blvd. The officers attempted to stop the Chevrolet and the suspects pulled into a parking lot, exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

The victim was contacted, responded to the location and took possession of her recovered Chevrolet.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Equinox in December 2016 at Kuni Hubacher Motors in Sacramento, California.
