The owner of a 2015 Acura TLX contacted the Greensboro Police Department, North Carolina, to report that a former roommate had taken the vehicle without permission.

The Greensboro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura TLX.

Once the Acura was entered as stolen, a pilot from the South Carolina Department of Natural Recourses Aviation Unit (SCDNR), who was patrolling the Myrtle Beach Area of Horry County picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The SCDNR pilot followed the directional and audible cues from the PTC and requested PTC equipped ground units to locate the Acura. Multiple PTC equipped patrol cars from the Horry County Police Department responded to the area and located the unoccupied Acura parked near the Pavilion Recreation Area at Myrtle Beach.  The Acura was recovered and towed to be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura TLX in August 2015 at Crown Acura in Greensboro, North Carolina.
