LoJack System Helps Denver Police Department Recover Stolen Jeep Compass

The owners of a Jeep Compass contacted the Denver Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

Less than 30-minutes later officers with the Denver PD picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Jeep to the area of South Huron Street and West Asbury Avenue.  There the Jeep was recovered and two suspects identified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Compass in December 2009 at Centennial Chrysler Jeep in Colorado, at the request of the current owners.
