The owners of a 2010 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Salt River Tribal Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen with the keys from the resort parking lot by a female acquaintance.

The Salt River Tribal PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

Eight minutes later, troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol and officers from the Phoenix Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the troopers and officers tracked the Land Rover to area of 19th Avenue and Peoria Avenue in Phoenix.

The Phoenix PD officers located the stolen Land Rover unoccupied in the parking lot of a shopping complex approximately twenty-five miles from where it was reported stolen from.  The suspect was not observed in the area.  The Land Rover was recovered and processed for evidence.  The Land Rover was returned to the owner in good condition.  Felony charges are pending follow up investigation by the Salt River Tribal PD detectives.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover Range Rover in March 2010 at Land Rover of San Antonio in Texas.
