The owners of a 2016 Nissan Maxima contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 3400 25th Street SE in Washington, DC.  The District of Columbia PD Radio dispatched a 5th District officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Nissan. When the officer was unable to locate the Nissan a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan Maxima.

A short while later, officers from the District of Columbia Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan Maxima with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopter.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Nissan to the 1600 block Savannah Street SE in Washington, DC. At this location, officers observed the stolen Nissan Maxima parked, unoccupied and undamaged. Officers recovered the Nissan and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Nissan Maxima in November 2015 at Passport Nissan in Marlow Heights, Maryland.
