The owner of a 2017 Toyota Camry contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 600 W 36th Street in the Hampden area of Baltimore City.  The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer from the 5th District to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Toyota. When the officer was unable to locate the Toyota a stolen vehicle report was prepared. Investigation on scene by the officer determined that the Toyota had been left unattended with the keys in the ignition allowing the theft suspect to enter the vehicle and drive away. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Camry.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Camry with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Toyota to the area of 1100 N Woodyear Street in the Sandtown-Winchester area of Baltimore City. At this location, officers located the Toyota parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Toyota was then recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2017 Toyota Camry in February 2017 at Jones Toyota in Belair, Maryland.
