The owners of a 1999 Toyota Rav4 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.   The owners had parked the Toyota in front of their residence in the 4000 block of Halco Court.  They left it unlocked and left a set of keys in the vehicle, which was a habit of theirs.  They went inside of the residence for the night. The next morning they found it missing.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

22 minutes later officers from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 3600 block of paradise road.  The Toyota was found unoccupied and unharmed.  The Toyota was recovered and released back to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Rav4 in February of 1999 at Toyota of Huntington Beach, Huntington Beach, California.
