The owner of the Honda Pilot parked it on the street where he normally parks it in the East Elmhurst section of Queens, confines of the 115 precinct. When he went out for the Honda Pilot the next morning he found it missing. He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 115 precinct when the police responded they took a written report.  The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Pilot.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by officers of the 115 precinct, this was in the Elmhurst of Queens. The signal was tracked through various streets in Elmhurst. Eventually the Honda was found parked unoccupied in a residential area. The officers decided to stakeout the Honda and after a while their patience was rewarded; a male showed up and entered the vehicle. The NYPD immediately pounced on the suspect stopping him before he had a chance to drive off, thereby avoiding a possible dangerous pursuit. The Honda was recovered without any damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Honda was recovered so quickly especially without any damage. He stated that he was happy that his Honda was equipped with the LoJack® System when he purchased it; otherwise his vehicle may never have been recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Pilot in July 2008 at Paragon Honda in Woodside Queens, New York.
