The owners of a 2017 Toyota RAV-4 contacted the Denver Police Department to report that their brand new vehicle, which they have owned for less than two months, had been stolen during the night from their residence.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 5-minutes the first of several police officers from Denver and Aurora Police Departments began picking up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen LoJack unit in the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Toyota to the 300 block of East 18th Avenue where they found the vehicle unoccupied.  The owners were notified and came to the scene of the recovery to claim their Toyota which was undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota RAV-4 in February 2017 at the owners request at AutoNation Toyota Scion in Centennial, Colorado.
