The owner of 2011 Acura MDX contacted the Brookhaven Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during the day from their home while he was at work.

The Brookhaven PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

A short while later a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in the patrol vehicles.  By following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officer tracked the Acura to an abandoned apartment complex in Duluth where it was found abandoned and in good condition.

A detective was called to the scene for further investigation and possible arrest.

The Acura was towed to a local towing service until the owner could be notified of the recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura MDX in September 2013 at Acura Carland in Fulton County, Georgia.
