The owner of a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Arlington Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home located in the 2500 block 11th Street North in the North Arlington area of Arlington, Virginia.  The Arlington PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Land Rover. When the officer was unable to locate the Land Rover a stolen vehicle report was prepared.  The Arlington PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover Range Rover.

A short while later officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to the 2300 block of Kent Village Drive in Landover, Maryland. At that location, officers observed the Land Rover parked and unoccupied.  Officers recovered the Land Rover and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover in February 2015 at Land Rover of Alexandria in Virginia.
