The owner of the Nissan Maxima was out with friends one night when he went to visit some other friends at a local tavern. He parked the Maxima and went in; when he came out for his vehicle he found it missing. Apparently he left his Maxima open and his keys in the ignition. This was in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, confines of the 90 precinct.  He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 90 precinct and when the police responded they took a written report. The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by officers of the 90 precinct, Anti-Crime Unit NYPD, this was in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The signal was tracked through various streets in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Eventually the Nissan was found parked unoccupied in a commercial area. The officers decided to stakeout the Nissan and after a while their patience was rewarded; a male showed up and entered the vehicle. The police immediately pounced on the suspect stopping him before he had a chance to drive off, thereby avoiding a possible dangerous pursuit. The Nissan was recovered without any damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Nissan was recovered so quickly especially without any damage. Stating that he was happy that his Nissan was equipped with the LoJack® System when he purchased it.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2017 Nissan Maxima in August 2016 at Nissan of Queens in Ozone Park, New York.
