The owners of a 2006 Nissan Frontier contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their pickup was stolen from the driveway of their residence.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later, the police helicopter from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter crew tracked the Nissan to the area of Glendale Avenue and 35th Avenue in Phoenix.

The police helicopter observed the Nissan at an apartment complex parking lot and directed ground units to the stolen pickup.  The Nissan was found unoccupied in the parking lot.  The Nissan was recovered and processed for evidence.  The Nissan was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Frontier in October 2005 at ABC Nissan in Phoenix, Arizona.
