The owner of a 2014 Ford Fiesta contacted the Austin Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner was visiting his sister at her apartment and left his keys in his Ford by mistake.  When he returned to his Ford, it was missing.

The Austin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, officers from the Austin PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to the 2300 block of Gaines Mill Rd where they observed it traveling northbound.  Officers were able to stop the stolen Ford and arrest the driver.  The Ford was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Fiesta in August 2016 at Riata Ford in Austin, Texas.
