The owners of a 2008 Suzuki GSX650 contacted the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office to report that their motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex off of O’Neal Lane.

The owner related to the deputy that they parked and secured their Suzuki in front of their apartment building the day before. They returned to the complex and discovered the Suzuki had been stolen. They also learned that a 2003 Kawasaki EX500 was also stolen from the parking lot overnight.

The East Baton Rouge SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Suzuki.

Several hours later troopers from the Louisiana State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suzuki with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the signal off of I-12 and I-55 in Hammond, Louisiana. The motorcycle was found in a neighborhood off of Louisiana Hwy 51 in the garage of a residence which resulted in the arrest of the suspect in the garage. Troopers learned that the stolen Kawasaki was in a nearby residence.  The Kawasaki was also located and the suspect at that residence was also arrested. Both subjects were charged with possession of stolen property and held on arrest warrants from East Baton for theft.

The troopers had the motorcycle placed in a storage yard until the owner could pick it up.
